As a polymer scientist and bioengineer I leverage fundamental soft matter principles to tackle global health challenges. Currently, at Stanford University, under the advisement of Dr. Eric Appel in the Materials Science and Engineering Department, I have engineered novel excipients to enhance stability and reduce patient burden of life-saving biopharmaceuticals, and developed scalable immunoengineering platforms for prevention of neglected tropical diseases. Prior to that, I was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow with Dr. Suzie Pun in the Bioengineering Department at the University of Washington, where I designed polymer therapeutics to treat kidney diseases and improve bioavailability of small molecule drugs. During my career, I have focused on applying properties of soft matter to understand biological barriers to drug delivery and design accessible engineering solutions to improve global health.
